Extended preview for the feature length documentary "This Is What Love In Action Looks Like". In the summer of 2005 a 16yo Memphis, TN wrote on his MySpace blog about his parents sending him to a "Fundamentalist Christian" program that claimed to offer "Freedom from homosexuality". What followed is a modern day message in a bottle, as teens in the local community stood up for their friend with daily protests which eventually grew to include a huge plethora of individuals demonstrating at the facility in what would become an international news story. The documentary features several former clients of the organization who tell their personal stories about the time they spent within the programs walls, including exclusive never before seen interviews with several teenagers who were forced into the "Refuge" program.
The documentaries producers intent was to show the passion and conviction of both sides of such a strong debate, however, countless attempts to interview Love In Action officials, and their wider network of affiliates were continuously denied, unfortunately thwarting our wishes to allow them to tell their personal stories in detail :-(
The documentary will premiere in February of 2008.

This was beautiful, to see people actually standing up for peace and acceptance. The whole AIDs excuse, you can get it through any form of sex or even getting someone else's blood. You can get it from a WOMAN'S open cut if you are a MAN with an open cut. Being gay isn't just about sexual attraction, it's about love. A true connection between two souls, two hearts, bound together by affection.
If only the world would realize that.

Anyone who really has been touched by Christ would realize that above all, he spoke the truth. Would it make sense that such a man of truth would want you to live a lie? Never! If you are gay be gay, if you are straight be straight... both of course should love thier neighbours as themselves, do unto others as they would have done unto them, that is the mark of a changed man, not feigning who one is attracted to!

I can perfectly understand why Love in Action would not want to speak in this documentary. Everytime secular media has given those who chose to leave homosexuality behind a "voice" it has been taken out of context, mocked and labeled as bigoted and ridiculous. Obviously this is the agenda of this documentary. I agree that older kids should not be forced against there will but that doesn't mean Love in Action needs to be blacklisted. The real issue has to do with parents forcing their kids to do

Wow seeing that building in this documentary brought back so many horrible horrible memories. I was one of the teenagers forced into attending. The whole place is based on making kids feel ashamed of who they are. I actually was asked to write a list of all the sins I have ever committed in my entire life and read it in front of a group of judgmental parents. I can attest first hand to the feelings of suicide prevalent in the minds of people in that program. They should be shut down.
