It is a sub species of the wolf spider family, lycosidae, possibly a rabid wolf spider, Rabidosa rabida, and the female you saw at the end was carrying live babies on her back, which is indicative of wolf spiders

All the spiders on Earth should be sent on Mars. This way, we won't be bothered anymore and they will ALL die because there's no air on Mars; even if they don't all die, at least it will be impossible for them to come back unless they sent some spider web on a satellite that is passing by and is supposed to go back to Earth....

Kind of a sissy about them you are. I'm glad you didn't just kill it though. Releasing it to live a happy life out of your sight was the right thing to do. Own a tarantula and you'll appreciate spiders a lot more...and get you over your fear of them.

Looks like it could be a wolf spider.
Since you got rid of it you'll now have more bugs in your garage which is worse than having 1 spider. Like roaches etc.
