but "god" doesn't explain anything. its not more then a skyhook. and religious people take "god" as answer for everything they dont understand.
but explaining the universe with something or someone even more complex and improbable ( if even existend ) is nothing. and specially not an answer

and by the way. it is not proven that the universe not always existed. even the big bang theory says nothing ( NOTHING ) about this point.
as i said.. Loop Quantum Cosmology teaches us that universes or the universe itself hasn't that what you would call " a beginning" and the time before that. no need for a god.

Hmmm..just remember,a god explanation does not explain anything! The same set of questions are still un-answered when we stuff in a god. And when you start using mumbo jumbo for a god explanaiton, some people just prefer the more simpler approach and use mumbo jumbo for a more simple natural explanation. It seems to me that you need less of that when you stick to the natural. And in case of a personal god,the amount of mumbo AND jumbo is just so huge that we can easily classify it as delusion.

well just because you think you know everything doesnt mean you do! nobody truly knows who is right or wrong which makes the idea of god open for possibility and discussion
Personally i believe in a higher power but do not like the brainwashing of many religions out there...and doesnt this above video disprove the big bang theory ? maybe our exsistence is just like many other colliding galaxies out there that are formed, not just one big bang

i never said i know everything. and this is not what i am thinking :) if i'd think that it would close my mind to new theorys and make me unable and unwilling to learn more.
i also like to debate with religious people which i count to my friends.
but i give you one example why the idea of a god as an explaination is so absurd ........

Step 1:
We have 2 theorys .. Theory A and theory B
theory A ( scientific theory .. lets say evolution for example ) is supported by tons of evidence.
Theory B ( god and religion ) does not have evidence at all
Step 2:
"i do not understand how Theory A explains phenomenon X"
Step 3:
"therfore Theory B must be true"
this example is not mine .. richard dawkins made this example once..
and it is great to show how stupid it is to take god as an answer for anything.

Everyone here who doesn't beleive in God is actaully contradicting themselves. The Law of Conservation of Mass and Energy states that mass comes from previously existed atoms and LCE states that enrgy cannot be created or destroyed. Take that FACT (as you guys might think) and apply that into what you guys beleive.

You think that God is a non-existing power and that the universe began with a big bang. By the laws of LCE and LCM everything comes from something before it. How then was the big bang created. Tell me how. SOMETHING must have created the big bang, and that is not some far off answer you can pull out your ass. God created the universe, and the heavens. Even Einstein quoteed this, "Science is just the creations of God and what I'm doing is trying to understand it." That it my argument.

what you do is propper quote mining. Einstein bacame an atheist before the age of 10.
And just by the way .. the big bang theory is not flawless and also says nothing about how the universe started. the big bang theory explains the universe AFTER it "started".

einsteins theory of relativity and quantum mechanics together. this is something the big bang theory doesn't do.
your point is that LCE and LCM point to a god because it must have been created. and this is where you are mistaken.
also.. if you see that as a prove .. then you need to explain how your "god" created it.

True but science is based on evidence. You cannot explain god, but you still choose to believe it. Bible is not a relevant evidence since it was written by men. Who is subject to bias. If Einstein grew up atheist, he probably would have contributed more. It all depends on the culture and upbringing. If you were a Chinese then it is likely that you will be Buddhist.

It would be stupid to think God is an answer for anything but I think its perfectly fair to believe in a higher power, thats the way i see it
Having faith is part of believing in something that isn't proven, which may speak to being stronger than simply just having concrete evidence but instead having a spiritual connection

to be honest :) it may seem a bit different but i actually not completely think that fait is necessarily a bad thing. spirituality can be a good thing.

i just have an issue with creationists who really know nothing about .. well .. anything and try to sound scientific. also with religions which tell children that they burn in hell for eternity if they don't beleave in stuff contradictive to evidence before their minds fully formed.

The belief in God is by faith. Science still has no answers to the universe so it's easy to fall back on faith to find understanding. It's our sinful nature to ignore faith and keep asking why.
Maybe some day, some scientist will be able to channel enough energy to reproduce Dark Matter and it will probably be the end of us.
Which is probably why our little insignificant planet is out in space so far away from everything else.

I think I could have an answer to how the universe began. Before the big bang, the universe was infinately small, thus would have answered to the laws of quantum mechanics, based in pure unpredictablility. Then, anything that could happen, no matter how indefinately small the chance is, could happen, like a small point of energy becoming a huge, forever expanding cluster fuck of matter and energy, a large portion of which we can't see because it does not give off light.

for 1 thing they will never run out of things de can't explain,but that is not WHY I think the "dark"energy is the spirit of God,It is the way the"experts"discribed dark energy when they discovered it, still do"mysterious, life couldn't start without it,the universe was featureless and smooth"it reminded me of GENESIS 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen1:2The earth was empty formless mass cloaked in darkness.And the Spirit of God was hovering over its surface.
