Arthur Clarke - Fractals - The Colors Of Infinity 1 of 6

Uploaded by: do5e
Video Description:
Arthur C. Clarke presents this unusual documentary on the mathematical discovery of the Mandelbrot Set (M-Set) in the visually spectacular world of fractal geometry. This show relates the science of the M-Set to nature in a way that seems to identify the hand of God in the design of the universe itself. Dr. Mandelbrot in 1980 discovered the infinitely complex geometrical shape called the Mandelbrot Set using a very simple equation with computers and graphics.

to say that it doesnt prove god is to say nothing. it doesnt prove spaghettios but we know they exist. it doesnt prove there is a giant spaghettio which is made up of an infinite amount of spaghettios, but it does prove there is an infinite geometry in which infinite geometries exist. which somehow take the shape of spaghettios and your spoon, and your face and the galaxy and every universe... how that proves god... is irrelevant. submit. splitapieceofwoodandyouwillfindme, liftanyrockandiamthere

Infinity should be ... ( 3 weeks ago by thesethingsihate)
Infinity should be enough to force any hardline materialist/scientific naturalist into submission, but sadly I think there will always be people who think that anyone who has any spiritual thoughts (of any kind) must be "deluded".
Sometimes I find it an amusing thought that perhaps everything we can know as the "universe" is actually compressed into the space of a quark in another universe, and the same for that universe. I think mathemathics boies physics off into infinity

I go to work, so I can buy some food/clothes/cars/support myself/my family/help others support themselves/their families/interact with others/create experiences for myself/for others... etc/etc
All I know is that I am Human. I want to perpetuate my species and contribute to _Its_ creation (technology, civilization, society, etc.) It's a pride thing. Go Humans. It's what we're born to do.
Don't assume we're all the same/think the same.
Continue the discussion. Don't ever stop.
